1.       Where did you grow up?  I grew up in Monett, MO.

2.       How long have you been CrossFitting? I have been CrossFitting for three and a half months.

3.       What is your favorite WOD?  I don’t believe I have identified a favorite as of yet.  I love to run around, grunt, and lift heavy things.  So far, every WOD of which I have been a part has afforded me that opportunity.

4.       What is your favorite lift?  My favorite lift is back squat.

5.       What is your least favorite CF move? Excellent question.  I can’t decide if my least favorite move is wall balls or burpees…

6.       What do you think is the biggest myth about CrossFit?  I remember the first time I was exposed to CrossFit.  I was watching television and happened across the CrossFit Games on ESPN.  I don’t remember the exact WOD but I believe I remember HSPU’s, PU’s, and maybe some cleans… Anyway, I remember thinking to myself, “why on Earth would anyone CHOOSE to do that to themselves?”  Now I ask myself, “why didn’t I try it SOONER?”

7.       What is your favorite non CrossFit activity.  I need to take some liberty here and expand it to multiple activities… I love music.  I love to play it, write it, listen to it, and go to concerts.  I also love to ski and hike.  I can’t wait to see how my gains translate on the ski slopes.

8.       What is your favorite (paleo or non-paleo) food?  Hmm… well, yes.  I love all food… equally and without bias.

9.       What is something about you that most people don’t know?  Well, if you’ve read question number seven you already have a preview… I am a musician.  I play guitar, bass, drums, and I even sing (in the shower of course).

10.   What is your nickname?  Kirch… original, I know.

11.   What do you do for a living?  I am an account manager for the world’s largest dedicated internet security company.

12.   How has CrossFit changed your life?  In the short time I have been CrossFitting, it has impacted my life in a couple of very positive ways.  I grew up playing football.  When I was in high school, that was a big part of who I was.  It kept me active and in the gym in a team environment.  Everyone on the team did the same workout with the sole intention of getting better.  Once I stopped playing football I lost that support system and lost my motivation and inspiration to stay active and fit.  Early this year, my family introduced me to the idea that I could do CrossFit.  I decided to try it.  Now, three and a half months later, CrossFit provides that team atmosphere, motivation, and inspiration I missed.  By utilizing the nutrition programs and working my tail off, I have made some very exciting improvements and I am making great new friends along the way.
