Modig Fitness’s September member profile is none other than the talented Lee Ruiz. Many of you will recognize her from her efforts photographing you at your sweatiest best for our newly designed website. Please enjoy learning more about Lee in the following profile.
- Where did you grow up? I grew up in Gig Harbor, WA but was born in Seoul, South Korea.
- How long have you been CrossFitting? A little more than a year now.
- What is your favorite WOD? Not sure if I have a favorite WOD, but if I sweat a lot it’s a good sign that I tried my best! 🙂
- What’s your favorite lift? Power Cleans
- What’s your least favorite CF move? Snatches!
- What do you think is the biggest myth about CrossFit? Well, especially for women, the thought of, “I’m going to get too bulky” is pretty common. This is what I believed before I started doing CrossFit. So not the case.
- What’s your favorite non-CrossFit activity? This is a tough one, I can’t just pick one. I love anything to do with the outdoors. I’m pretty adventurous and spontaneous. Heading to the shooting range, hiking, biking and so on… I like to just go and explore places too.
- What’s your nickname? Haha! I have all kinds, “crazy Asian.” “ninja” “lee”
- What do you do for a living? I’m a Wedding and Lifestyle Photographer. (leesunhee.net)
- How has CrossFit changed your life? This is a pretty BIG one, and I’m not usually the kind of person who puts themselves out there, but I’ve struggled with an eating disorder in the past and I truly believe CrossFit has helped me out tremendously especially when it comes to developing healthier eating habits, and more importantly having a more positive body image. I feel stronger than before and that feels pretty darn good!
